Marisol Swadener, JD
Marisol Swadener is an associate attorney in our firm. Prior to her current position, Ms. Swadener served as a law clerk at our firm while pursuing her Juris Doctorate at California Western School of Law, where she assisted our attorneys with matters before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Franchise Tax Board (FTB), Employment Development Department (EDD), and the State Board of Equalization (SBOE). As our newest associate, Ms. Swadener continues to assist clients with federal and state tax controversy.
Prior to joining our firm, Ms. Swadener served as a law clerk for one of the largest tax law firms in Santiago, Chile, where she researched and briefed the attorneys on the differences between the U.S. and the Chilean tax code to bring about tax reform. Ms. Swadener was also a legal clerk for a non-profit law firm in San Diego where she helped low-income clients with a variety of legal matters including preparing estate-planning documents, researching landlord-tenant issues, and preparing social security appeals.
Recently, Ms. Swadener received her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. While at California Western, Ms. Swadener served on the leadership board of La Raza Law Students Association, Estate Planning Society, and Tax Law Society. Ms. Swadener’s early accomplishments include receiving the Roth Scholarship and the Coca-Cola All California Academic Team Scholarship to attend University of California at Los Angeles. She received her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics and Economics from UCLA. During her undergraduate years, she was greatly involved with the community and worked on two research projects concerning the underrepresented, one of which she presented at the University of Irvine yearly Research Symposium.
Ms. Swadener is currently pursuing her Master in Laws in Taxation at the University of San Diego, School of Law.
Ms. Swadener is fluent in Spanish.
